i guess the first thing on your shopping list is a 44gallon drum of CRC
nice score mate, looking forward to the updates![]()
Not sure if you've noticed but one of the indicators is a bit twisted. It may also pay to check the tyre pressures before riding it, they dend to drop a little over 25 years.
You're welcome.
Vote David Bain for MNZ president
Looks like a YD2 or 3
I remember seeing a YD3 mid sixties in a pale blue colour.
The YD3s may have been single carb and with the painted guards etc were the std non sports version. Very rare.
cheeRS guys.
Have spoken to a very knowledgable(sp?) fella down south who has a few of these.
It's a YD3, but the more i go over it more appears to be missing, and most of the bits are either super hard to find or if you can find them then it's mortgage the house time lol.
So i think it may sit in a corner of the shed 'til i decide what to do.
The only problem with restoring this bike is the fact they were never that popular new and restored it will always battle against Brit' classics in the re-sale stakes.
The other option is 'Restify' (restore / modify) it with period bits from jap' and brit' bikes.
It may end up on TM but i've got no idea of value in it's current state.
Well i'm sorry to say it's now for sale on TM.
Decided it's a little too far gone for me and needs quite a few parts that are non-existant.
Good call, buddy. Get it back into circulation, and move it on to someone with a better chance of salvaging something from it. Sheds everywhere are still loaded with impulse buys that haven't made the cut on Sunday morning....![]()
