has anyone got a proper pair of bike pants that have a 30" waist, i don't care what colour they are or how ugly so long as they are in tact, i'd even consider doing a bit of sewing if necessary, i'm a poor student now so they have to be pretty cheap or free would be awesome!

If anyone can help getting the pants down to gamgee... he also enquired about the XS helmet, I forgot to get the exact sizing for him, but will post that tonight or early tomorrow morning to him, if he wants the helmet, maybe we could join the pants/helmet together and send them in one go
I'm not a complete idiot... some pieces are missing

    Cool

Ok I am on the look out for riding trousers... as I ride always in jeans.

I have a good waterproof and breathable jacket but just need trousers the same.... that will keep me dry in the rain.

The problem I have that being so flaming short and rather big is that the knee protectors are always down by my ankles...

When I get back to riding in a few weeks time, I am going to need something to wear as I cant get back into my jeans just yet.... At the mo all I am wearing is track pants and I sure dont want to be wearing them on the bike.

Oh and I have no problems wearing mens stuff... as womens stuff isnt made to suit my body... and no wisecracks either.

Ok now for the size. I am short and rather bigish.
Waist normally 36inches but at the mo since the operation I'm 38inches
    inside leg 28inches.
    waist to ground 38 inches
    Hips 45 inches.

So is there anything that I can get that would fit me...
I dont mind the waist size being a bit baggy.

So any ideas or help would be great fully appreciated.
I live on a tight budget..
    Cheers.

This is a good idea, as long as it doesn't get abused.

I've already given away some gear (a pair of gloves and a helmet), but still have some boots (still serviceable, but need resoling or an application of 'SpredSole', which is what I kept them going with), possibly a helmet, and maybe some gloves. I was keeping this stuff in case I needed it for my boys, but they show almost no inclination to go riding with me, and now that we have three cars, they don't need picking up / dropping off by bike (always good for a cheap thrill...)
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I'm hoping it doesn't get abused -But then if it does It just means some smartass gets cheap or free bike gear. Ya know what I mean -they may not be deserving but they still need the gear

I had this problem, cos when I was being assembled Igor ran out of legs my size, and just stuck on a pair he had left over from a pygmy (export order that got cancelled). Promised to change them for the right size as soon as he got them in stock, but never did. No pride in workmanship any more that's the problem

Anyway, my R-Jays the knee pads were half way down my calves, if I got a pair that fitted around my waist (no I'm not fat , that was another Igor stuff up. Centre section was intended for a Sumo wrestler - another canceled export order.)

So I just got out my trusty needle and thread and hitched the legs up. Basically just put in a false blind seam above the knee. Had to reposition the pads a bit but no problem. All good now, only took about an hour.

Well I guess I may as well ask too. Another student in need of gear, cheap, free a bonus and earns my undying love (well...maybe :P).

I'm after everything at the moment, with a jacket being my first need. Everything else (cept a helmet of course) is on a purely what I can afford basis.

I'll have to size myself up properly, but I'm a small on average

    171cm tall
    32 waist
Chest I need to check, but approx 104cm
    size 9 (UK) foot.

If you've got anything please let me know.

    Thanks

    How about gloves?

I have a pair of small winter gloves... VERY warm and nice to ride in... they just don't have armour in them... and yes they are riding gloves... (got the as part of my starter pack from Cyclespot when I brought my first bike). They are in perfect condition.

Yes I am also in need of gloves, but they do come somewhere further down the list How would I figure what size I'd need?

Go to This site and measure your hand (you need to measure at the widest point)

Just one thing, it works OK for people with normal proportioned hands. If you are like me and have strange shaped hands (wide and short) you may need to buy a size smaller or larger. And you may wish to buy larger to allow for under gloves.

(More I think about it the more dissatisfied I am with the assembly job Igor did. I've got a set of legs left over from a cancelled pygmy export order, a sumo wrestler middle , and hands that were an experimental model that never made production. And I don't reckon his stitching is all that hot either. I reckon I should have got a discount)

Cool thanks. Looks like I probably am a small then. Funny enough I actually know my 'actual' glove size when using the glove size measurements (7 1/2), just a pitty most places don't use them
