If it feels easy & natural, I reckon it's good.

Young Lady, you take it very easy out there OK! No Bullshit. lane splitting is all well and good.Keep your eyse wide open, read miles ahaed of you, have escape routes all the usual palaver most of all.
    Don't split moving traffic.
    Split at a safe speed.
Get where you are going and back in one piece.
An before you milk bar cowboys come on and tell me not to worry Tink is a friend and fellow group rider, her welfare and continued good health is something I am concerned about.

Yup true Mark to all above, saw the bikes behind me.... saw the cars moving, waited on trucks...and had a good mentor ahead of me, plus I lane split on the 250.

Whats a milk bar....? is that where widdgies and bodgies used to hang?
I'm not big on lane splitting, not much need on my commute as I have bus lanes....althought they present their own issues....
I see guys/gals doing it on the motorway between moving traffic and I think " they must have a job/date to die for"
I just pretend (its easy on a bike) that your invisible and no one sees you.....about 70% this is true.

You are invisible! I have come to the conclusion that my bike has an invisibilty shield that is activated when the engine is turned on.
Only other bikes can see me...

I used to find blue overalls did the same working in office blocks.....
I cycle to work the odd time....on that you are even more invisibler ....even scooters cut you up....vissy vests are the same color as road cones and how many of them do you see bowled.

Sounds good to me - you need confidence if you're going to lane split if you ask me. Nothing worse than following a rider with no confidence in themselves while splitting through morning motorway traffic!

Our Tink has plenty of confidence, don't get me wrong, I'm not scared of splitting or of Her doing so, long as she remains alert and doens't put herself in any undue danger.

    True.

Nothing worse than lane splitting for the first time when a huge loud fast sports bike zooms up and sits on your arse, and then a big 4 wheel drive sees what you are doing and moves to block your path. Now I just ride the long, long, way home where there is minimal traffic.

When a car moves to block your path, just ride to the other side of the car. Showing cheeky expression to the driver is optional.

    Support and cover brakes

And dont forget to ride covering your brakes with two fingers. It is hell on the wrists until you get used to it, but the extra fraction of a second response time it gives me has come in handy on a couple of occasions.

Yes. A very important piece of advice. Whenever in traffic, always cover the clutch and brakes. You never know when you may need them.
