Probably the most embarassing  tip off I witnessed. 30 of us descended on Wales for a weekend and parked on the promenade at the seaside. We all got on our bikes to leave revved up and set off. Apart from one poor bloke who had left his disc lock on and just stopped and fell over on his side. Apart from all his friends and fellow bikers there were hundreds of people around on a hot sunny day.

Poor guy was ribbed for nearly a year after that every time we went to set off.

This is why I keep my disk lock in its case. When it goes on the bike the keys go in the case. This way whenever I get my bike keys out I am given a gentle reminder about the lock (if its on, the case is empty.).

Father time drops some more off every time I make a dick of myself. Hence I now have a lot of common sense.

I don't think I've been riding long enough to have any *really* embarrassing spills... stay tuned I suppose. Apart from the two times I've binned the FXR properly there was one other, though... about a month after I got the bike, approaching a T-junction with a 'give way' sign to turn right, didn't see anyone and figured I'd go for it, then noticed a car going past from the left that I needed to wait for. Panicked, shifted up into third instead of down into first, stalled, panicked again, bike wobbled, forgot to put foot down, fell over splat at about 2kph.

Nice lady in car stopped with concerned look and asked if I was all right. Was very glad of full-face helmet and sunnies and absence of any other motorcyclists.

I had borrowed my mates ex cop 750 to go to a wreckers to pick up a car part. This happened to be a 1/4 window glass about 300mm long (triangle shaped) Now I did not happen to have anywhere to carry it so I shoved it down my pants with the sharp end next to the old fella. Off I went but after a couple of K it got uncomfortable so I pulled into a truck stop to move it. Just as I was stopping the front wheel hit a combination of gravel and diesel and went out from underneath me. As it went down I twisted the throttle and gave it the big rev throwing it down and round.
I got up very very carefully and patted around to check out the old fella and the boys to make sure they were still attached. Thankfully they were!! (Whew!!). Breathing a sigh of relief I pulled this 300mm piece of glass slowly out of my pants and looked up at these two guys sitting in a truck staring at me wondering what the hell I was doing.
Feeling stupid gives great strength so I hoisted that Yamaha up, tidied my self up, repositioned the glass (in a much more intelligent place) and rode home.
    Damage report........
    Pride slightly dented
Yamaha, a couple of small scratches
    Me just fine
    Glass still in one piece
    Personal items, working just fine.
Though when I did get a real vasectomy later on I did not take a bike or 1/4 window glass
I'm one of the worlds best riders. I can wheelie, I can stoppie, I can stunt, hell I can get my shoulder down. I could keep up with Rossie if I wanted to race.

Then I go from bed to bike and somehow it all turns to crap.
