Anyone got a GPX from that ride ? I couldn't make it this time. There is lots of the route I recognize, I think I have ridden most of the on road stuff but the off road nits I don't know. Any permissions required for those bits ?
    Cheers

It was a good day out weather was on our side.
They have cleaned up Okuku side which was nice to see no more ugly ruts.
South Side of the Waimak has been graded so there is some nice soft stony section and not much water in the fords.
I had one rookie mistake going into one of the corners grabbed too much front brake and lost the front end, I ended up stuck under the bike and had to wait for the TA & flashg to rescue me
Thank god no one had there Camera out

Actually just using this post as a taptalk test from my new cheap as budget smartish phone B-)

The ride was done on Public Roads no permission required, the only gravel bits we did were Western Valley Rd, Birdling Flats, Bossu Rd, Jubilee Rd, Camerons Trk, Lavericks Ridge Rd, Panama Rd and Ol le Bons Trk.

Don't think I know them so would be good to have a few extras like you along to share more than my own bullshit. They are DB newbys found me through Linton looking for a bit of a heads up on what to expect.
