I'm in two minds about this ride. Sounds like sooooo much fun. Love forestry trails, but inexperienced on steep stuff. Got tyres and sprockets. Just not sure if I have got the nerve!
Can someone please advise how much of the tricky stuff is steep sections. I don't want to shy away from a challenge, but neither do I want to be a nuisance to other riders!

Assuming you're talking about Dalethorpe, Linton at DAS describes it as Grenvilles 'manlyest ride' but the flyer does say it includes easy shortcuts. Sorry I don't know how they compare to the main route but I learned last year I have more fun on the main loop so I'm not going to attack any of the enduro options this year.

What I noticed last year was the ground give very good trackton
so even going slow or stoping on a hill is not so much of a issue..
take the easyer yellow arrow sections for familys & ATVs...
I maybe doing those..a guy from work is coming with me he's riding
a 30year old KL250 "In NOT very good condiction" think i maybe doing
    a bit of bike dragging/pushing..

Just home from Lees Valley. Good turn out today, lots of new faces and some novice riders. No significant snow, hardly any insignificant snow either.
I can confirm that eventually electric socks will shock you if worn wet long enough.
Trials Rider I blame you for not yet having the Gortex Boot Liner in my size, I believe they would have been tall enough to keep the electric sock dry.
Got some pictures I think but not looked or sorted them yet.

Thanks to cynna for organising a great ride today, and nice to meet some new guys. The river has changed quite a bit, now has some much bigger rocks than before and is deeper
