Might need a bike with balloon tyres to float across

Just added one of those to the tool 'selection' as in not to be taken every trip but maybe this one and the saw again just in case for further round on the hill.
I'm kinda hoping we'll still attack the crossing at the bottom of Bossu from Birdlings Flat but assuming we'll be skipping the open sea trench at the far end of the beach in the previous pics by Shoshoni. What ever, I'm just being a follower again this time.

Hmm, there's some seriously black clouds creeping over the peninsula from the south, think Mount Doom kinda black, and I just had a few drops of rain.

Reckon all that rain that didn't arrive today has been saved up and added to the stuff meant for tomorrow, being yer wet weather gear!

PS, I'll meet you, so long as is not torrential, round the hills somewhere

Banks penisulia with a one of the more tricky stock tracks and maybe a Birdlings Flat beach gravel crossing to Bossu Rd.
Meet at the mobile garage on the corner of Colombo and huxley St at 9:30 for a 10am departure. Ride starts with going up Huntsbury hill track then Summit Rd to Gebbies Pass.

Well I had a few moments today , Ol Le Bons track was in better condition than what I remembered.
Still wouldn't mind having another try for the Lake Ellesmere at some stage. I think my next ride will be the classic Waimak, Lees Valley run.

    Good, productive and entertaining day.
Fixed a puncture with peeteey on his bike, floated across the deep gravel crossing from Birdlings Flat to Bossu, loved the Old Lebons Road/Track, must do that more often on the WR, only 180km and I needed a rest under a tree staring at the sea round Charteris Bay (very nice)... but how should I feel about being overtaken on the ChCh side of Dyers Pass by a cyclist who then couldn't get past the very car that was keeping me there in the first place. Quite entertaining, quite the tailgater.
