If you're not toooo late come in Loburn and catch us up, maybe at the lunch stop taking in the view up at the airfield unless it's too windy up there.
You can get to have wet feet too then, or maybe not as main river is still super low on ECAN website..

It will be a fairly slow careful ride for us.

Good day for it, sunny and calm. Wee bit of glare off the damp road at times but most of that was behind us by the time we'd had lunch at the Airfield.
Three of us went, Shoshoni, New guy (not a KBer) and I.
I was a bit later than planned as usual. I arrived almost right on 10:30am and by the time I had my crap sorted (tyres/camera/tools strapped down) at the garage we didn't get away until 10:55am.
Lunch up top about 12noon to 12:45pm.
Water crossings all good and Shoshoni got a flat tyre that didn't want to be fixed but was sorted in the end.
We popped out and cruised through Oxford, then went down to the Waimak Gorge and emerged again at Intake Rd at 4:55pm.

I will if I can but after the last two weekend's 'pay to enter' Trail rides it's not looking good for me for this weekend at this stage.

With this weather, even tho it's supposed too be nice by the weekend, I would imagine the rivers will be quite swollen ...
If it goes ahead, would this be a 'dual sport' ride or a 'trailer in the dirt bikes' ride?

OP is using a trail bike but I think 'light' adventure would do. You could probably trailer or ride the DR350.
I would use the CRF 1st choice but 'imagine' the DR650 as an option. Not the Transalp though, I 'imagine again' it sinking in to stuff.

Re: Waipara Pub Run - which way you planning to go ?
I hear say that if you park, start/finish at Waipara then the bikes get a better washing on the way back up the river to get rid of all the salt and sand from the beach section.
Down side is you have to drive an extra 14km past Leithfield to park at Waipara.

Is there an estimated unloading time?

I still don't know what I'm doing this weekend. but I'm trying !

Where you meeting and when? I was planning on going for a ride on the Banks Peninsula (probably on my own) but might be keen to be a bit more social How long is the ride? does it pass any petrol stations?

PS Riding a road reg KLX250 - trailers are for bikes that have broken down

    v

there is a petrol station at the waipara end
i rode it on my rm125 with a 7 litre tank so just fill to the brim and your fine
normally across the road from left field pub, good secure parking then nip down the river up the dirt rode if people want to avoid the beach and up the waipara river. no more then a hour each way, and a jug or a coffee and the waipara pub and head home.

bring change of clothes and sum thermals, my cell is 0272854622 thinking of sunday meeting at left field pub at 10am
text me or message me if your keen

change of plans, water to deep to do waipara thinking of riding the intake

mate who works for doc was out waipara yesterday and reckons with snow melt sum of the river crossings could be waist deep rather then knee deep plus to cold to get wet thru to your undies in winter,
thinking of riding the intake anyone else keen perhaps text me to lock down start point at time or a ride i got space for another bike or two on my trailer

Been watching the levels online, I see several rivers in the area have gained a fair bit, was hoping to see them recede but no it's not happening fast enough so probably a good call.

I'm still in for what ever.
    Will txt you now.
