did your plate manage to stay on once it was bent up out of the way?

guick look on google - think its baynons rd that we get use now as it now leads to the horse park. so get into the north bank from harrs rd (but the ford was washed out last time i went) so use diversion rd to be safe
That's ok, I never go over to the north side of the waimak so I don't have to worry about greeting in trouble there then.

The plate has stayed on, I haven't fixed it yet, I might take it off to straighten it cos it's got cracks around the bolts, then I'll mount it a bit higher and put it on an angle, hopefully that way it won't hit the wheel again.

If you have an old computer case just make a tidy tale out of one of the side panels.

My plate used to be held on by thin stuff like that and it broke from the engine vibration and I lost my plate, it's held on by thicker strips of metal now so they shouldn't break, I figure if I put it on an angle like yours it should be okay.

Any word on a ride for this weekend, looks like rain but as long as its not too heavy I'm in, interested to find a few more places to ride around the peninsula.

Well, weather actually pretty ok out there, even better outside the city judging by the look of it from my Van drive back from doing an errand in Rangiora.
Rest of my day will however be spent changing tyres on the WR ready for the trailride tomorrow and stripping crashbars etc off the Transalp ready for some TLC work on clutch and carby starting Monday.
If anyone does get out have a good one.

Did anyone go for a ride today, I was out and about and decided to have a look at Ahuriri Rd and it's been repaired no sign of ruts.

    Foxdown trailride was good.
Couple of pics from near top of a hill but a lot of grey cloud messing up the distance and old phone camera didn't deal well with it.
Fell of a couple of times and done about 100km (3 * 32ish km laps.)
Lot's a poos though so actually gave the bike a wash once back at home.

Transalp is now having it's clutch and carby looked at by professionals.

Ditto. Was nice to give the EXC a bit of a work out again.

Just sitting here thinking it would have been a bit of a laugh to take my old 950 ADV S on that one. Would have been a good ride for the bigger adv bikes to have a nudge at and riders to push skills a little. Nothing impossible (maybe the enduro loop would have been a bit nasty!) or too tiring.

yeah if the weathers ok...not raining....will take the tenere if its still going...looking at getting a crx450 exhaust adapted to make it fit the tenere as the one on the tenere is a straight thru thing....deafening and attention grabbing and upsets the neighbours...

Bad news...tenere gearbox crapped out on the way home last night....up at five this morning to see if it was something simple like sprocket or chains but sadly its internal.....pulled away from the lights ...changed to second and jumped out of gear to the sounds of a box of spanners being thrown on the floor....bugger....will pull engine and investigate.....done a thousand kms since last rebuild with no warning signs or sounds of any imminent failure...nursed it home but still kept jumping out of gear to terrible screeching sounds....
