A bit of a long shot...

Having managed to buy a bike for my son in Gisborne I now have the task of getting the bloody thing from there to either Auckland (me) or to Taupo (him). The motorcycle transport industry doesn't go to Gisborne very much and are bloody expensive when they do ($450) so if anyone happens to be passing through there with a spare space for a 250cc road bike and wants to help out for a reasonable fee, get in touch! I will be your friend for life (but just real manly stuff....no hugging or kissing involved).

    Ta in advance,

    Iain

Can the Gissy guy get it to Napier?
Could store it here until you can arrange pickup.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Thanks John but not really..... failing all else it looks like a bit of a road trip (Auckland, Gissy, Taupo, Auckland) on monday for me, I'm practising sitting still and making brm brm noises for 14 hours in anticipation (car & trailer)

Send the kid over on a bus and make him ride it home to Taupo.

We have considered this, but I'm not convinced a basic handling skills course sets you up for 4 hours of open road riding, I might be wrong but it didn't seem the wisest choice to make.

Good choice, it absolutely doesn't prepare you for much at all really. Have just got my learner and have found this myself. Further training required before taking on trafffic.

Hi, try calling CBVT in Napier. They go up to Gissy with a car transporter couple of times a week. Might do a backload to Napier for ya.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

If you pay for the bus ticket, I could ride it back up to Auckland for you on Saturday. Send me a PM if you are interested.

PM Kiwipeet on advrider. He is going to be coming from Gissy to Rotorua sometime in the next few weeks I think, & he does have a trailer. He has also seen the light re adv bikes so you should get on ok.

    Cheers

Ask nice & he will probably run it through the Waikaremoana just to make sure everything is OK.

Right...want me to look out for the parts of the scrambler you left scattered around the Cape on my way past?

Thanks guys, all the offers and suggestions are very appreciated.
