    would have to be the Aprilia 250 wouldn't it? 60hp and and 160kg's

    top speed around 210km or about as fast as my zxr400...
    gone.

    aprillia NSR or RGV are fastest 2 strokes, no idea what's in it tho.
    fastest 4 stroke would be CBR RR imho

    my pick for the best 250 of that era would be the nsr250rk , fucken sexy and very reliable , btw i hate hondas

    kawa kr1s250 is the fastest production 250...[top speed]
    fastest four stroke is unrestricted zxr250c...[top speed]
    fastest 0-100 is 98 cr250 [and I HATE HONDA's}
    fastest 0-100 fourstroke 05 kxf250 [yeah go the kawa]
    fastest 0-100 road legal 250 is some Gas Gas thingy [enduro 2stroker dunno what it was called]

    I read that somewhere on the net a few mnths ago...

    Agreed with poos, I think a properly set up zx2r C model is quicker than a 250rr (eh tex ) in all circumstances. More grunt down low anyway.

    RS250 would be quickest two stroke (having highest bhp/L ratio of any production sports afaik), and some random NSR probably next.

    Yep the ZXR is a little faster but in the real world not track makes no diffrence I still gave you the learn on the coro many a time. And I was able to start my bike everytime with out a fuss, never needed to push start it up and down my street tris.

    Yeah hondas always were made for softcocks with good carbs/electric starters and crap. Prob why they are so slow to start off with.. all the money is spent on reliability.

    What texmo said is pretty much right, you won't notice the diff unless you are getting to the edge of the performance envelope, if you want high km's and reliability and parts go cbr if you want looks and that slight edge go zxr.
