$30 levy - how many bikers are there in New Zealand?

I'm puzzled about the $30 "training" levy. Apparently the Govt are spending $2m on training. Hang on, how many of us are there?
$2m is less than 7000 of us isn't it?
Are we being totally shafted- AGAIN???????
As a group, we need to get a real grip on this levy as well as the ACC levies- it's time to go on the offensive, we are all doing exactly as we are told.

$2,000,000 divided by $30 is 66,666 bikers? Or am I misinterpreting what you're talking about?

2,000,000/30=66,666.66666666667 if thats what your were basing your calc on. (ominous number, though - thats the mark of an awful lot of beasts)
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

i agree some people think that there is some sort of bond between people who chose one method of transportation over another

    Doesn't include me, cause I'm a motorcyclist like 98tls....
I hate the term 'biker' with a vengeance, almost as much as the term 'cager'.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes

Just a thought, those that love the whole "group" thing inclusive of "group rides" should step up and offer to shell out more, last one i bothered to go on was some kind of ego/wank/carnage fest, amusing at times but fucked if see what its got to do with motorcycling as i know it.
