    Wow, handy info.

Next time I'm pissed and driving home and I see the flashing blue&red lights behind me I'll keep driving until I get up my drive at home then tell the cop to piss off and tell him I didn't know I was being pursued so it doesn't count and he can't do nuffink..

maawwwwhhhhh that is out of context and you know it.
There is no persuit unless the person being signalled to stop know's he is in persuit.
That is from the horses (police) mouth.
That is quite different from entering anothers property as fresh persuit.
The persued may not know he is in persuit of, but fresh persuit he/she still has to man up on his property.

The op mentioned he suspected he was being followed, therefore he knew he was being followed.

And the big question, how do you get pissed on speights anyhow?

    Maawwwhhhhhhh.......

ahhh giving the op the benefit of the doubt.

In the SI the cops don't bother following up on small fry.

They diary it and pull you up much later for something one of your mates has done which is a bit more serious and do you for it.
    That is my experience anyway.

This one probably perfed under his own conscience stress.
Besides they can run but they can't hide. It is a pleasure riding knowing where they are.

    It went like this.
Him. have you hand anything to drink tonight Sir,
Me. Not a drop, have you?
Him, does your car have a current warrant of fitness and registration?
Me, Obviously it does. ( i drive a pretty decent car and live in a good street )
He then comes into my garage and starts looking around checking the warrant etc, no problems.
Me, Why have you followed me and whats this about.
Him. just a ramdon check, if we dont pull people over we dont write many tickets.!!
Me, what the fuck, if i called you people about someone burgling my property you would,nt bother turning up !
Him, dont swear at me Sir.
Him, Do you have your driving licence?
    Me gives it to him.
Him. Where do you live what number is this house.
Me. I live here, obviously, the numbers on the letter box, cant you read? But i asnwer the question anyway.
    He writes it down.
Me. Give me my licence back.
Him. Im going to do a check and he wanders back to his car. he's not ging to find anything, just wasting my time.
Me. please yourself, im off to bed, i close the auto door and leave him in the drive outside the gate. Go inside and leave the front door open.
Him. About five minutes later he calls from the other side of the gate, (it's an open wrought iron big gaps in it easily seen through and easily reaced through)
He holds out my licence, i go to retreive it by reching though the gate and he holds onto it so hard my fingers slip off it. I try again, and he does it again. Third time he lets it go, i just put it back in my wallet.
Him. Trying to assert some sort of authority and power says, Dont Snatch.( i hadn't)
Me, (That's done it, im mad now so says to him). You lot, if i called you for a burglary, you wouldnt even turn up, a lot of you are as bad if not worse than the criminals your supposed to be catching. And, what are you doing following men home in the middle of the night? Are you a homo or something? Get off my property, piss orrrf, i going to sleep.
He stood there like a stunned mullet for a minute after i'd gone inside and then went away.
I honestly dont know what made me so mad, im normally quite a peacful non controntaional sort. I think it was the infringment on my personal space and him walking round my garage. Oh well.
Friends now tell me i'm a "marked man". I wonder !!!
Is it just me, or is being in the police just a a "revenue" gathering job these days that it's become their main focus.
    They want repect. Pah.
Anyone else have an experience similar?
Lodge a complaint as his alleged behaviour is unprofessional and needs to be addressed. If anything for his own safety.

If he has 3T'd you (completed a traffic stop) there should be a record in the system, if he hasn't he's an idiot and placing himself in danger as Comms will not know his current location if he gets into a similar situation and it goes pear shaped.

Also if he has checked your personal and licence details; his details will also be embedded in another system permanently.

Guys/ Girls like this do exist but are a rarity unfortunately they reflect badly on the great work the majority of Police do.

If your local Police District fail to acknowledge your complaint lodge a complaint (online) with the IPCA.

You may actually be doing this chappie a favour.

Yes as previously stated if you're being freshly persued (section 119? of memory ish LTA)

In his defence.... I will say that it's a common tactic for people not to stop when they're near home if something is wrong. As a cop you are in a very vunerable position up someones driveway (off the roadway, not knowing who else is at the property, who you are are dealing with yet ,and not always knowing exactly number wise where you are) and if someone whizzes up without stopping personally I always expect it to be for some 'good' reason......either drunk or disqualified. When the adrenaline gets going (cos you are nervous what you're dealing with) you can appear short at first. If you FU'd into the house I would also be thinking that you were disqualified or wanted. Having said that... if I established that all was in order I would be all sweet, but you can't blame him for being twitchy at first and you've admitted your shortness in attitude which can't have helped his. If you're a good guy, you know that, but the cop doesn't know at that stage. It really puts your twitches on alert when someone pulls into a driveway, theirs or otherwise (as it often is), when you've signalled them to stop. Put yourself in those shoes in fairness before you judge wholly. It may explain the cops attitude at first, and your reaction attitude probably was the reason for the way he was at the end.
I work on my own all the time and encounter these situations now and again. They always make me very tense as you do not know what is going to happen.
