Phreaky Phil has been studying up on this for a 2013 ride, and recently talked with some 'Naki rider back from there. Maybe he let you have some contacts?

You taking a bike over, or buying one there? Riding with buddies or by yourself?

Keen to get your experiences pre & post the ride, given this is something we are aiming to do as well.

    Cheers, Steve

buying a bike over there and either flick it off in LA,or ship it home depending on costs.
will be travelling with a couple of other blokes, both have done a bit of global riding.
if i bring my bike back, whats the deal with costs once its landed here.

I rode the TAT in 2003. I am also a very good friend of Sam, the guy that mapped the trail....

I'll help you all I can...

Dave Kuriger from Taranaki tells me he completed the TaT last year. Took his own bike, 800 BMW. He busted himself on the DB 1km so probably has a bit of spare time on his hands at present
