To register or not to register - that is the question

So I have a 40 year old Suzuki TS90 (11bhp of raw power) - that was last registered in 1983.

Licence plate has dropped off the system.

Putting it back on the road involves demonstrating it isn't stolen, and paying $175 for compliance plus 6 months rego ($60).

Due to its age it doesn't have to be continually licensed.

Illegalities aside, why should I bother?

It won't get used a lot, and in the unlikely event of being stopped I can state I am taking it for compliance.

I suppose there is an insurance issue, but it will never be out of site whilst not at home.

Anyway - I have till next spring to decide - if I do it now most of the rego will be for winter - and $60 is $60.

Don't register it, if you drive it sensibly you won't get caught. Worst case scenario if you do get caught then you're still cash up in pocket.

Only 60 bucks for 6 month rego on those things, are you sure?

You might want to check the penalties, they may be different if your caught on an unregistered vehicle as opposed to one without a current rego.

Even a fuckwit should find it hard to get a motorcycle impounded.

My vote is for you to get it legally road worthy and then it is worth some money if you ever want/need to sell it.

You'll also avoid a great deal of stress in the event of Mr Plod having nothing better to do.
