Just rang the dealer , $2k
Going to look into a repair.
A couple weeks back I was tearing up a backwater road here in the Wairarapa at dusk and hit a freakin rock some imbecile left on my part of the road, I was doing a fair clip (howling like a banshee comes to mind) and the entire bike was launched into the air.
Didn't really think of it again until I brought the bike into work so I could have a quick getaway back to Wanganui, me and one of the lads were havin a chat when I noticed a bastard of a dent in the rim, on closer inspection I found the rim is split.
So yeah, Not the exiting story you may have envisioned, but its ruined me day![]()
$2k? Fark...solid gold is it then?

Surely you can get some lighter aftermarket wheels for $2000! Time to bling your bike out.
Keep on chooglin'
And that was the cheap option.
My bike being the anniversary model has a "hand painted" pin stripe on her, They had a separate order number for it but no price as it has to be manufacured to order....
I wonder how many more thousand to get a wheel out of the store room and stick on a pin-stripe....
Ebay might be worth looking at, I'd rather have an undamaged wheel than a repaired one. need a later model though then those linked.
Rimrite Alloys in Palmerston North. These guys do great work. I had several alloy rims repaired when I was racing open wheelers (including one with a 60mm x 40mm chunk missing out of it) and all the wheels came back looking brand new and worked out a lot cheaper than buying a new rim. Worth checking out.

John at New Zealand Wheel & Frame in Cambridge should be able to sort it.
For $2000 I could replace the wheel with an entire bike, Bolt the back end of her to where my front wheel currently resides and have a twin engine tandem motorcycle.
No idea what sort of crazy counter-steering would happen when hitting a corner though.....(though someone will no doubt tell us)
Insurance is for less arrogant more sensible people.
I have my own system going, I call it "I dare shit to go wrong"
I insure nothing, I throw away warranties and proof of purchase, I never keep records, do the paperwork or pay any fees.
I stand before everything that can fuck with me and I go " I fuckin dare you to fuck with me motherfucker"
So far its been a massive fail.
