    Speed kills Hahaha

"A police officer has been left red-faced after running a red light and colliding with another patrol car in Christchurch yesterday morning.

The marked police car was heading east along Bealey Ave with a woman from a domestic dispute and another officer in the back when the crash happened about 6.20am, Canterbury road policing manager Inspector Al Stewart told The Press.

"Due to being distracted by (the woman), the driver of the car has gone through a red light," he said.

The car hit an unmarked police car heading south, leaving the driver of the marked car bruised but no-one else was hurt.

"The initial indication is that speed isn't an issue and that both were travelling under the speed limit," Mr Stewart said.

"It's difficult at times when you are dealing with someone like that not to get distracted and it's just a matter of bad timing."

The crash would be investigated before a decision was made on whether to take action against the driver." - Stuff.co.nz

Bad timing? WTF?!! The guy was distracted and not even paying enough attention to see the red light. Anyone else would probably get charged for careless driving...

Yeah, it's bullshit aye? when you're piloting a ton and a half of steel distraction is not a fucking excuse. Speed kills is crap too, it's a symptom rather than a cause.

Bullshit! There was another officer in the car that could have been dealing with her and if she was being such a distraction he should have stopped the car.

Treat him like any other red light runner!

Indeed, but those more safety conscious would remove the distraction before continuing. I don't think I've run a red either, even been known to stop at the odd green in fact

But if the plainclothes driver was wearing a high vis jacket it wouldn't have happened

I have never run a red light a stupid bitch ran a red light and hit me when I was 19. Smashed my eye socket, nose and cheekbone. Took 3 operations to put my face back together.

No excuse, being distracted. This is drummed into you when you learn to drive and when you sit your test for your license.

    better work stories

"Despite what's happening in the police car, the driver has got a duty to take care," he said.

The crash would be investigated before a decision was made on whether to take action against the driver.

Both cars were off the road with "moderate to serious" damage.

"The crash will be investigated in the normal way and the file will be passed to the district crash panel."

    Believe it or not
