Shock: strip, machine shaft, re-assemble. I'd do it in under an hour, and I don't do them frequently. But if you insisted I'd charge you for more.

McDonalds do superb work and for reasonable prices although I think you'll find you're nearer half way to eating a grand already...

Not one model Buell. All Buells except an XBScg (or the XB9SL). Given my reputation as a grumpy arsehole I'll continue. I think lowering bikes is the biggest crock of bullshit ever. The "lowered" bikes I've ridden have steered like a shopping trolley and they end up with less ground clearance than the average 250cc cruiser. The violent weight transfer under heavy braking has to be experienced to be believed. Perhaps this is a symptom of enthusiastic amateurs lowering bikes and a properly setup one is different. I've yet to bump into one..

The Buell scg is factory intended to be small. It was designed that way. I also am not a big fan of "lowering" bikes for lowering sake. I also worry about fork travel, lack of suspension travel and general all round compromised suspension. I dont ride hard, but that makes no difference to me, I want a bike that wont let me down if I am in a place I need to rely on how my bike handles to get out of trouble. I would also like to know that I can push it my styles and have it forgive any mistake I might make.

Again no way I'd suggest that you should do some boogie job on any bike. The question I was asking is what did the factory do to convert a normal height bike to the lower version. It would be a crying shame if in fact all you need to comfortably ride a "tall" bike is slightly higher bars and slightly lower seat and these are available accessories.

I know, it goes on and on, but I am still in the market. I have had to grieve for the bike of my dreams I am still very much in the market.

We are going bike shopping Friday, at least then I will know which one fits.

Yes please lovey man, all easy shit for you. Just a bit needs to be lifted out of the old box and saved to the external drive thingybob. Then a bit of software needs to be installed on the new lappy and the data files recollected as they should be. I need the 2 screen thing working, it wont listen to me when I tell it to extend We dont have email set up, we were using firefox and I have saved all my contacts as a csv, I need a new one set up, and my contacts imported again. Can I have my email messages transfered to use? Blah, blah...

And for your information I am going to make a decision tomorrow. If my feet reach the ground it is mine. Oh to make things so simple

Saturday or Sunday better?

Don't know about being taller making it easier. My bike has a seat height of 895mm or 915mm, and can go even higher when I set it for more weight on the rear.
