Bought For The Parts seems pretty fitting

    Blast From The Past has been going for a few years now, it is a riders and restorer/tinkerer's group within Kiwibiker for those with and interest in pre 1990's motorbikes. Here is the group blurb;

Who/what is 'Blast From The Past ?

We are a bunch of individuals who have a common interest, namely riding and sharing tales about our pre 90's motorcycles.
Originating in Auckland there are BFTP groups sprouting up NZ wide!

We ride once a month. Our rides take 3 - 5 hours including stops and are generally held rain or shine.

Each member attending a ride on a correct period bike is eligible to purchase a BFTP logo sticker for the princely sum of $2.

If you have a period bike (runner or project) please join us and tell us all about you and your bike/s. The group is morphing and establishing interesting self help and help share threads on a range of bike related matters (with particular emphasis on maintenance and restoration). All we ask is that you come on rides or post what your up to and enjoy other's tales too.

If this sounds like your cup of liquorice tea then join up and say hi, we don't bite and we all know a thing or two about making old bikes go again.
We broke off from the main part of Kiwibiker because most of the members in BFTP don't really have an interest in modern bikes or the trials and tribulations of fitting an end can, or a tail tidy we tend to get a bit more involved in our bikes than that and have a sometimes surprising knowlege base from within our membership.
We have people who race, ride and fettle all sorts of machinery from all sorts of manufacturers. The main point is pre 1990, and in the main it is bikes from the 70's and 80's but we welcome older for sure!
Not sure how many rides we have done but we have had 3 rallys so far and planning a lap of NZ including the Burt Monro later this year and whatever else our members come up with.

If this sounds like you, and you want to be an active part of it then join
We don't bite and encourage new folks to get involved with the rides, banter and topics.

    To join go here: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/group.php

    Regards,

    Mike

    From the last rally....

    Gidday

Hi BFTP folks I have rejoined with a new handle (Previously Status Quo). Still in OZ/Melb unfortunately, too many work opportunites here will keep us here for a while but miss the kiwi roads despite some nice roads east of the city. GS in NZ/Storage plugged into a power socket! (and, after years of stuffing around with carbs finally go it running well using the carbs off my now dismembered donor GSX750ES prior to leaving). I was going to ship it over here and all but decided not worth the expense and possible stuffing around with Roadworthy cert etc. Anyway after 6 months bike free it all got too much so have just picked up a nice pre loved 2003 Triumph Sprint 955 from a bloke in Geelong and hope to do a lap of tassie on it next summer.

Is it not polite when joining a club or group to introduce yourself, maybe participate?
There is plenty of stuff on the internet you can passively enjoy and the consensus was that we wanted people who were writers, doers and riders not just readers.

Rejoin, write an intro, come on a ride or better still sort out a ride and post it up. But if you don't want to contribute then don't join. Simple.
what a crock a shit... power crazed simple as, hope they/he feels better for it... cos some of us just dont have the time to keep up on a regular basis, but between life its great to catch up... ohh wait cant now... HAHA oh YES I can, Im still alive

I agree with a lot of what katman has to say....but I don't feel the need to spend hours on a website prattling on about it.....He's like your virtual Mummy.

As for not having time.....2.85 posts per day would suggest otherwise.
