Motorcycle Trader and News is giving away the editors custom built bike a classic 1981 Yamaha SR500 which is currently in the making.
He purchased a old classic and with the help of some of our regular advertisers and supporters will give it away to one lucky reader and that could be you.

The bike is currently in the process of getting customised and to follow its progress check out the updates in the magazine each month.

In the meantime if there's anyone out there that can help us in converting a 1981 Yamaha SR500 single-cylinder engine from a kick start to an electric start we'd love to hear from you.

In the meantime if there's anyone out there that can help us in converting a 1981 Yamaha SR500 single-cylinder engine from a kick start to an electric start we'd love to hear from you.

I'm picturing an exposed chain from a started motor down the clutch cover, and a shaft going through it with a cog and ratchet to run on the clutch drive gears.

Not a great description of it, but it'd be simple and could be made to look very cool!

I have seen one with what looks like a hydraulic piston attached to the existing kick start pedal! Won't be nearly as nice as a proper starter motor !!

See if the guys as Dues / Shed 51.....or whatever they call themselves these days. Their Jap mechanic might have a trick or 2 - he's been working on SR's for decades.
