    Bike hire and weather?

    Hi All
Noob here from Canada. Will be coming to your country in November and wondering about any experiences anybody has had with bike rental companys as far as filtering the good ones from the bad. Will be there for a month and a half to 2 months and am leaning toward New Zealand Motorcycle Rentals and Tours as I fly into Auckland and would like to start right from there. Also in my research I dont think I will have to worry too much about weather on North island in the early to mid part of that month but then planning to do South Island from about the third week of November to mid December and wondering what I might expect as far as weather there. Looking forward to any information and enlightenment anyone wants to give me and thank you all in advance.

Weather at any time of the year ... if you have the right/good gear is seldom a problem. At that time of the year ... in the south island, wind rather than rain would be the issue. Only in rare times a big issue ...

you're coming in spring so the weather could go either way. May be nice and sunny but probably be abit of rain about and a few cold nights in the sth island/central nrth island. If you're into skiing etc you might get lucky and the ski fields will still be up and runing

Weather in Nov: Expect to be rained on some of the time, but definitely not all the time. It won't be too cold - no snow or ice on any roads, but maybe a bit nippy in the morning in the south, maybe 5 degC minimum. In the south island don't plan too much, often one side of the island will be nice, the other wet, so just go where the weather is good.

Keep us posted on here as to your travels & you will no doubt be able to meet up with a few locals for a ride or beer along the way.

    Cheers
    Clint

Thanks all for responses. I was more thinking if anybody has any stories good or bad on bike hire companies as I have been and am aware of the various companies but of course if you just read their websites they're all the best but we know that can't be true.

    Question

On a side note can someone tell me what I have to do or how much I have to post before I am allowed to PM?
