I was watching an interesting doco on how purely religious and low skilled people tend to have on average 5-6 kids per family. While the people at the tops of their fields tend to maybe have 1 or 2. And in quite a lot of cases none. Therefore smart genetics obviously shall be out of the equation soon enough

Apparently humans have lost quite a lot of brain matter compared to early homo-sapiens. We can rely on eachother and aren't required to think as much. Even more so with computers now, man people are gonna fail epically.

That's the trouble. Most people think they are "above average" as drivers/riders and everybody else are idiots...

    ...so the status quo remains.

This is already very evident in this country. Add the fact that most of our best young brains go overseas, exacerbating the problem.

I promise I won't go overseas when I finish uni... cough... cough.

Who knows though loads end up coming back after a decade or two. So as soon as that flow starts returning, NZ might end up a much better place.

But I mean look at America... general populus isn't that promising. But they import so many PhD students. I think the figure was around 40% of people that have doctorates in America weren't born there! That country will go down the toilet soon enough.

    You don't have to.

Don't come on here complaining when you're dead though.

Oh no I'm not saying that those who go through university are intelligent. Especially NZ universities, not to mention thoughs that take BA's.

But you'd think most "intelligent" people would tend towards education in some form or another. Not quite as easy to differentiate when everyone goes to uni these days

Not everyone - only those who are scared to face reality.

I went to university for two years.

Can't say it gave me any grasp on reality.

Alas I'm sure it would have been an interesting revealation upon the inner workings of Mr. Katman.

When you said you didn't get any "grasp upon reality" did you mean culturally, or physically?

I'm studying physics/calculus so physical reality is easily defined to me. Culturally not so much, that's mainly because I refuse to do some cultural degree aka a BA!
