It is not so much the need to ban the U-turn, there needs to be a total attitude shift in all road users. We have woeful and inadequate training for learner drivers/riders. It needs to be drummed into gen pop right at the start to be responsible for our own safety and considerate to other road users.
Good luck with considerate, given the way that some parents are raising their kids is all I can say!
As quoted Below, Katman is right, we should not have to but it is us who come off worst in a smash...
If the driver was not in a high vis vest the cops probably never even saw him...
Sad but true.
The whole of Society needs a rethink and a kick up the Khyber imho, we have gone soft and PC mad, we have spiraling crime rates, confused schooling, and we are lacking social/relational skills, and each generation is getting worse (that is a statistical generalisation, not every youth is a knuckle dragging yob)
Me thinks a socially responsible rethink is needed......... nah never happen politicians are to scared of upseting liberal minority groups (unless they ride)... rant over I have to go and save the world from itself

I've ridden/driven in lots of countries mainly in Europe and NZ's driving would be up there....er down there.. with Turkey and Portugal.
Seems to decline the futher south you go.....
For example:
the Autobahn has 3 lanes, the slow lane for slow vehicles and trucks, the centre lane for faster vehicles, the outer lane for overtaking only.
Trucks do no use this lane.
However we dont' have that here....see the Southern motorway on any day....trucks and noddys in the outside lane....even when the the other two are empty.....apparently you don't have to keep to the left here..... unless the sign says " keep left unless overtaking"
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.
Meh, the world would eventually be better for it.
Oh I don't know... the US census and research into USA doctoral recipents.
"27 out the 87 (more than 30%) American Nobel Prize winners in Medicine and Physiology between 1901 and 2005 were born outside the US"
"In 1985, foreign-born Phds represented almost 33% of the engineering post-doctorate researchers in US universities."
"33% of all U.S. Ph.D.s in science and engineering are now awarded to foreign born graduate students (2004)"
"45% of Ph.D. physicists working in the United States are foreign born (2004)."
"55% of Ph.D. students in engineering in the United States are foreign born (2004)."
"Between 1980 and 2000, the percentage of Ph.D. scientists and engineers employed in the United States who were born abroad has increased from 24% to 37%"
Hmmm, I am talking a bunch of utter shit. You really think American education is that great? In some states they teach creationism in the science classroom for goodness sakes!
Been there so I can truthfully talk about it?! Even if I went there I wouldn't be able to research all the doctors in the country... Needless to say why the heck would I want to go there in the first place.
Americans.
