Dont take risks for the sake of a bit of adrenaline (it is over rated in my experience and I have had the pure shit, they inject it if you are really needing a boost), we ride bikes, they go fast and have ommph if we need to use it, please respect it.

If you notice you are making mistakes (may you not pay the ultimate penalty for them in the meantime) slow down until you can get some training, or more experience.

RIP Adrian - I hoped like hell it was not you...

Motorcycle riding is the one reason I went out and got life insurance.

I am worth quite a few hundred thousand when I kick the bucket, Yet I know that money will never replace a father. I feel better knowing that if it all turns to custard my son will be taken care of.

After each ride I used to look skywards and say thank you, mainly that a)I returned safe,b)the bike went ok.

Seriously doing 180km each way each week can make you blaise with familiarity of roads, but always send a "got here text" when arriving,or "having coffee at 'vegas"when gassing up.

I learnt that the hard way, I was out all day on my bike visiting a friend who lives out in the country and man did I get a bollocking when I got home. My husband thought I was dead in a ditch somewhere

That's the beauty of cellphones, my wife and I are always in touch and I've always sent a text or called her if I was away on my own. Way back when mobile phones became "affordable" I got one mainly for the safety aspect of having communication ready to hand when on the road. Makes me feel old when I think how long ago that was...

Nice to know you're missed and he's worried about you, though, eh?
