    Moonlight ride

Today after all the chores were done it started to get dark. "Bummer" I was thinking. Getting too dark for a ride.

But then I corrected my self: "It is never too late for a ride". And so I spent an hour riding in the moonlight.

Normally I hate riding in the dark. Age has made my night vision far from 20/20. But of some reason this time it was not a problem. The evening was warm and there was not many on the roads. What a delight!

Need to do more of this. But have to get a set of new night glasses as night riding with sunnies has it's limitations...

I used to love taking the bike out on a warm summer night for a ride on the open road. How I miss riding my bike...

    Nice Idea.

Full moon to help the headlights, clean visor and a half decent fish,n,chips shop close to a beach is a nice run.

A pub. There needs to be a biker friendly pub too!

If you're going to have more than say a half dozen drinks, it's better to take the cage

    Thumbs up

Some of the SATNR's best rides are these sorts of evenings, when the air is still and clear, the temp ain't too up there and the road is empty.
Get those glasses Con, it's always a treat when the roads your own.

No. No need for that many. Just have a destination, a moment where you can sit back have a drink and look at how the moon makes her look even more attractive.

The last two Friday nights I have been out for a decent night ride - leaving home around midnight and getting back around 5.30-6am. It was quite an experience riding over the Kaimais in some of the thickest fog I have ever seen. I was actually part way down the other side before I'd even realised that I had reached the top.

I am half considering going from Auckland to Masterton tonight to see the parents, but I'd say that's only 25% likely to happen. Maybe next weekend if the weather is okay.

Edit: Those bloody rabbits might be the end of me one day though!

Shit, after that many I won't hardly be able to walk, much less drive/ride.
