    Importing from UK?

    UUUUHHH ive just found a front rim for my bike and its the only one ive seen that is 3inc wide that my discs would fit but its in the uk and they dont ship to nz as they say it wiuld cost 260 pounds postage.
    Does anyone else import from uk and is that postage sound correct or are they saying that to put me off i wonder.Anyway gutted:angr

    That is the link to the pommy post office. You can see prices and services offered. It is expensive in my experience

    Courier prices can be a little high.

    I've imported heaps from the UK. A rim is quite light and should cost you no more than around $70.

    Ask the sender for the package size and weight, then work it out yourself via the Royal Mail site.

    Thats cheeper than others but still a bit by the time i pay the gst on the price and postage.
    The rim is the only one ive seen though so might still consider it [start saving i guess]

    Just worked it out on the site and it says by my guess for a 17 inch rim
    50cm x50cm x 20cm= 10kg volumetric weight witch tells me 116 pound=247 dollar.
    or 124 pound traced unless ive worked it out wrong.
    Do you know if gst is charged on postage cost?.

    Once you go over the 2kg mark the price skyrockets.
    Not sure why you would have to pay ANY gst at all for a one off package, especially if the item is second hand. I have sent quite a bit of stuff from both the US and Pommyland and have never been charged GST.

    Yes GST is levied on the total including postage.

    The GST is collected only if it is above a certain threshold, $50 of GST rings a bell, so that's $333 total cost at the current 15%.
