    Public dob in speeding bikes

    This from our local rag.

'Motorcyclist speeding through Puhoi on the weekend afternoons are giving villagers a headache. Puhoi forum member Judith Williams says the speeding motorcyclists hinder public events. The worst time is Sunday afternoons when there are a lot of things happening such as the farmers market, sporting activites, hall events and people walking around the village. The forum has approached Warkworth Police. Local Sergeant Bede Caughy says their concerns have been passed on to the Orewa Police with the request for additional weekend patrols'.

I feel an organised ride coming on...

To be honest you can go a shit load faster in most circumstances on a very quiet motorcycle, what is wanted ?, speed/thrust G force adrenalin or noise? (look at me!)

I see the fun-police at it again. Typical reaction from a non-biker who obviously hasn't been getting any lately.

Is it the noise or the speeding? speeding round public events I can understand getting dobbed in (youn-uns round etc), can't see how loud bikes are an issue though, unless they are really loud, or maybe they just sound like they are speeding

Confused I am (but that is very easily achieved...). You turn off the SH in to the small Puhoi road. It is only a K or two to the pub. And the road is not a "racing mecca". Far from it. Puhoi is a small village. You respect the place and the ones living there and ride accordingly. Also, there is always bikes coming and going so to speed is not very clever as you will easily collect another speedster.

Apart from "showing off" there is no need/use for speeding there. Personally I have never done it in the Puhoi village.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Just wait till a biker gang shows up in their town and speeding sports bikes will be the least of their worries.

More cruiser type bikes visit the Puhoi than sport bikes. Gangs do show up from to time, one beer each then they fuck off.

Bit of a non story isn't it. Residents of a village (or whatever the fuck Puhoi is) get rightly pissed off with people speeding. So they ring the cops. You're an arse to be speeding when all that stuff is happening anyway so anyone who gets booked deserves it.

If it was boy racers not motorbikes then everyone would be agreeing.
