    Morals, freebies and value?

I've been fortunate to have been give two motorbikes.

The first, a 74 Yamaha DT100 (3,400mls). http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/al...p?albumid=3950 The owner knew I'd look after it and get some enjoyment out of it, and so it has been. I feel as though I am just looking after it for him. One day I might get serious and get it re-registered.

    The second, a 1996 Cagiva River 600 (35,000kms). http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/al...p?albumid=3951
For much the same reasons as the first ... though this got me back into biking.

At different times I've had fleeting thoughts about selling them. In either case I'd ask the ex's first and give whatever money less what I've put into them back to them. Last weekend a friend of my son came round and had a hack on the Yamaha. He now wants to buy it... I realise the worth of anything is what one is prepared to pay for it.

What does the wisdom here think each machine is worth?

Perhaps, what you paid for them?

(Assuming they were given, not long-term lent, in which case check with the owners).
    Redefining slow since 2006...

Definitely givens. First ex owner likes to know how its going, the second just says sell it (the Cagiva has had a few issues). I have spent a little money on each of them to get them going.

If I do anything I'd check with previous owners regardless, if sold then profit goes to them, that's why I'm interested in their value.

Hmmm, the gift that keeps on giving. I'd be happy to do that if I could trust the next recipient to look after them.
