    At last a new bike

For all of those who know me i thought i would let you all know that i have finally bitten the bullet and bought a new bike.

I have been struggling for the past 4 years with my GS1200SS. Ever since the cage hit me and damaged the bike I have been fighting a loosing battle trying to keep it on the road and repair it (unfortunately I had no insurance at the time and the cage didnt stop). The GS just got worse and worse until last week where even I felt unsafe on it.

I approached the bank about some readies and they said yes.

So off to Trade Me I went and perused the bikes for sale. The missus was also interested as i have been promising top take her for a ride for a long time now but put it off as I wasnt willing to risk hurting her. I dont really matter but she does.

After much deliberation we both decided upon a bike.

Phoned the owner (happened to be local) and last night he brought the bike around for me to have a look and test ride. I loved it.

So I have done the deal. I am now the proud owner of a

    Triumph Daytona 955i

The GS will be put into the garage and worked on at lesuire.

May I ask how it handles? I don't suppose you could compare it to something like a VFR800?
I've always liked the 955i and I'm also in a looking to buy position.

I really like them in silver too, good on you! Hope you enjoy it a lot!

    Havent ridden a VFR800. Have ridden\owned a vfr750.

On the short test ride (about 1/2 hour) I was pleasantly supprised. No vibrations, no strain on the arms, very responsive, happily zipping through the gears to see what the acceleration was like I glanced down and noticed 140 on the clock. Buttoned off fast.

I loved the VFR750 but this one has reaqlly impressed me. The sound alone had me sold. Sounded as though it was sucking in all the air in the world. Last triple I rode was a Kawasaki 750 2 stroke. Last triumph was a 70's bonnie.

I'm sold on this bike. I was looking at a ZX12R but the missus decided she liked the Daytona and I promised i would look at it. Glad I did.
