ACC earnings just under $2 billion more than forecast

The Government's Budget deficit has shown a small improvement on forecast in the six months to the end of December. At $5.97 billion it was 2.8 per cent lower than forecast thanks largely to higher than expected PAYE tax payments, which were up $271m or 2.6 per cent, on forecast..

The balance was also helped by ACC, which recorded a gain of $911m, $1.8 billion ahead of forecast.

Thanks fuckers. I wish my broke was as bad as your broke.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Sheeeit! So they expected a $900m deficit and came out with a $900m surplus?! Levies are up and I think claims declined has skyrocketed. I think basically anyone over 40 gets declined on back injury these days cos they call it 'degenerative'. It'd be interesting to look at the non-earner figures again

    Can't say i'm surprised.
Shonky accounting, blatant lies and bs....upping levies left right and centre and declining claims by the truckload...their profit margins would have to increase!

Profit rolls over though doesn't it? As a buffer for if claims go back up again. And if claims are kept down then it gets given back through lower levies yes? If the world was perfect
