Ever notice that anyone slower than you is an idiot, but anyone going faster is a maniac?

A good reason why you treat others road users as idiots, because they usually are!!!!

Damn man, that xray looks nasty. If it makes you feel any better, I only got 2 weeks till my cast comes off, my break (wrist) was only like a 5mm little chip off a bone though. Hope you're up and running again soonish.

Sad story, sorry to read it. It's all bad, but the worst is the elbow.

I wish you a speedy recovery Mark! And I won't say "don't do it again" because the truth is that sometimes we are not in control of the situation behind the handlebars of a bike. See Will You Crash Your Motorcycle? thread poll & discussion!

    Get well!!

    Terrible news mate...

    Have they accepted fault??

I'd say "you thought they were slowing down and passed them to their left as they had created a gap"

    So it's their fault.......

I almost got taken out in the same manner - and I was overtaking from the right and legally too .....

FUCKING CUNTS!!!! IT ONLY TAKES 1 SECOND TO DO AN OVER THE SHOULDER CHECK - don't these bastards have any knowledge of blind spots.......

Hope you get well soon mate!! Take it easy....
But when you're in hospital with broken bones it really doesn't make a jot of difference that the other guy was at fault. Ride defensively I say, assume every other road user is out to get you, and you may just get home alive!

All very good to say "don't pass on the left".
But if a car slows an looks like it's about to turn to the right how many of us ain't gonn'a duck up the inside ?
I still do it now an then, when the cars indercators are on that is.
    Still,a learning exspereince huh!!

Seaveral years ago I got caught out like that when a car pulled into the right hand turning lane at the Greta Valley Pub and I started to go to the left of it,but my alarm bells started going off and I got on the brakes as they then turned to the left to go down the Scargill road,I didn't quite make it around the corner on the inside of them and was probably only doing about 15km when I finally hit them, did more damage to the 4wd than to the bike but since then I've always been a bit more cautious
"If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough power."
