    The Ride Home

Accident this evening created a 5 mile tail back. Some pretty tight filtering got me to the front of the queue. Plod had blocked off the road while things were cleared up. About 20 bikes there with me and we all swaltered in the heat - 32 today. Plod comes up and says to follow the car until he gave the sign to overtake. His parting comment was, "Looks like the starting grid of the MotoGP".

With a clear road ahead we took him at his word - one fast trip home. One of those times when it's only bikes on the road. Felt just like the Isle of Man.

    I'm so glad I ride a bike.

Oh yes. Bikes don't work so well if you can't filter.

From what I've been reading my filtering today would also be legal in NZ as the traffic was stationary. Is that the case?

So long as you keep to the right of the cars in the same lane. If you are to the left of the car in the same lane, it's considered undertaking which is illegal

    Correct me if I'm wrong

it's pretty cool when you have a bunch of bikes like that, and it does look something like the motogp.. shame it's under those circumstances.

alarumba, you pretty much got it.. there's a ton of threads on this, so lets not make another one.. this is one of personal favs...
