Call me cynical but it sounds like you had a while to read the situation.

I don't think hi-vis would have made a difference in this instance as the problem wasn't not being seen. I'm still unsure as to how effective hi-vis actually is under normal circumstances also

Your shoulder injury sounds a lot like mine. You've probably torn some muscle, it'll take a week or so to come right. Anti-inflammatory meds & nerofen are what I was given by the friendly A&E doc
Watch out for tow ropes and quickly braking cars

I had a similar sounding shoulder injury I would highly recomend seeing a chiropractor. mine had dislocated and poped back in during a tackle and months of phisio did sweet stuff all, and for a few years i keft having flare ups. After 3 years the wife got me to a chriopractor and after 4 visits i havent had probelms for 4 years now.... highly recomend i would never bother with a physio again

Wow mate, you're really lucky you weren't injured further or killed!
I really hope I never experience a similar situation.

They need to throw the book at f***tards like this to make an example out of them... people would be so much more careful if there were ACTUAL consequences for their actions

thats a horrible thing to have happen. I cant begin to imagine the feelings you would be overcome by as you felt him accelerate, and dissapear into the distance. Ive been hit, but at least they stopped for me. When he goes to court you get to write a victim impact statement, which you are entitled to read out in court, its your opportunity to have a personal input directly to the judge. Clearly you are an intelligent, articulate man with the ability to write in a manner that clearly and eloquently outlines what you have to say. Utilise that talent and be sure your voice is heard.
Untill then I've no doubt you will be enjoying the love and comfort of your family who no doubt flashed through your mind on that day.
Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery, and I pray that the sick depraved gutless individual gets a harsh sentence.

From My Crash 7pm Tuesday 1 March 2011

To the driver of THAT car.

When I saw you slowing down I thought here is one to watch for.

When I saw you brake I thought what is the fool going to do, watch him closely. I then moved to be a bit further from you.

When you started to turn I thought how can that idiot not know I'm here. My bike is noisy and my horn is going. How far is this clown going to go before he realises that he is about to cause a crash. I braked hard and leaned the bike over as far as it would go. So far that the back wheel started to slide sideways. By now I am clearly visible in your window and windscreen. I am fighting to avoid a crash with you that could kill or badly injure me.

I see you move left and think you are also trying to avoid the crash and will stop so I can pass in front of you and have room to stop.

Sorry to hear of your plight fella, heal well etc,If theres a downside to motorcycling it would be that when your on one you have to treat everyone in 4 wheels as though there complete and utter fuckwits and expect them to act accordingly. Not having a crack at you (i learned a few lessons along the way with them) just passing on my own experiences over the years. As i say heal quick etc.
