You never thought a Harley could be desirable? Or that a single motorcycle model could dominate a racing series for over 40 years?

Far from it....I love the XR1200 and very nearly considered trading the Guzzi for one. Plus the Nightster was a ball to ride.

Maybe I should have done the heading "Most desirable of the Harley Davidson models made"...

I guess (I'm no H-D expert) that your mates XR1000 was a special using the same formula as the factory did (ie two front heads). Never worked on a Sporty motor so no idea how easy (or hard) this would be to do.

XR and XL are the same thing in the context of this discussion.

You want to sell more - consider something more diverse like a bagger or WLA.
