HA! You finally admit both bikes are equal in performance! Took you a while. ZXR is still one up on looks though

I think I would come up top in a race cause I wouldn't be nearly as worried of wrecking it further. Tanks stuffed, crankcase sidecovers are stuffed, fairings are stuffed, only things in alright condition are the motor and frame now

    No, I was humoring you.

I still think the ZXR would be better on the track with its torque, but for hells sake I will keep my ZXR until we can race - make sure you de-restrict yours because I get to $1.95 beyond rather quickly.

Unfair advantage. Go to Taupo instead. Allthough, the excessive amounts of torque your ZXR has over my CBR should give you advantage there as well

Manfeild short track is the most fun I've had, even more fun than burning a Mazda Familia up the Rimutakas (Spleen will know what I'm on about)

When i have the fairings off for painting im gonna take the clutch out and clean it. if that doesnt fix it i'm just gonna get an aftermarket replacement.

Btw john, how was urs derestricted? coz i checked the wiring diagram and it has a part labelled 'speed limiter'. Its shown as connecting to the ignitor on the same plug as the pick up coil with a pink wire. Other two wires out of it go to the oil pressure light and high beam light which i am assuming are earths...

Simple way I did it was, crack speedo open take out the restriction mechanism shove it in a box and connect it and shove a NZ new 400cc speedo on

and that made it faster? this restriction mechanism - is that the thing im talking about in the diagram? and did u put the new speedo in so that u could see up 2 240kmh or was that part of the process?

No it didnt make it faster - just allows it to continue up over 195.

The mechanisim the stops it just works by a simple switch type application, when the speedo hits 195 the switch flicks and it sends the signal to the CDI (which is the speed limiter in the diagram IIRC).

Can you easily de-restrict a CBR?

I havent had a look at a CBRR electronically, but I would imagine a few measurements of current and you would be sweet, ask your mechanic about it if your not keen to play with electrics.
