    Identify Harley? on Wgtn Motorway

Most days I go to work in a car (with Wife).

Most mornings I'm passed by lots of splitting bikes; I try to keep an eye out for them (apart from the bastards with high beam on) and like to see what they are.

Most times I see this grey thing that looks like a Harley, but seems a bit small. The rider (single seat) has a comfortable position, the bars are quite high, and fairly far apart.

I have no idea what model it is - but it seems like a single cylinder or something? Is that mad?

Do HD make a "small" bike?

Single cylinder? Probably a Suzuki Savage 650 (Boulevard S40).

I'm thinking it's Paul's XL1200N with 883R decals on his grey tank! He's one of our mechanics, and the bike is well modified, and is fucking horn!

That pipe clinches it, I think. I reckon that's it.

I see bikes in the mirror for a while, and ahead of me for a while - they are not next to me long, so I think I got it quite wrong.

    It really did seem "small".

Never been much in HD, but the stance of the rider on this looks real comfortable and practical, I liked the reach to the bars.

    It seems very "controlled".

    Cheers,

You didn't get it wrong at all mate! Sporties really are small physically. If you can be arsed, have a look at my profile pic. I'm only 5'10" and was 75kgs when that pic was taken racing a sporty, but it looks really small...because they are. Come in and ride one one day...you may be well impressed.

Tempted: never thought I would be.

I do look around at current bikes. There's not much that really get my attention; few that would make me trade the Z. Some that do seem interesting, seem over priced.

I have to admit that some of the Harleys do look interesting... and some are priced pretty well.

But to be honest, it won't really be soon that I'm thinking of changing (unless you'd give $15k trade-in for a Z750S... :-) ).

    Cheers,
