    Kawasaki EL250V?????

I've seen pictures of this bike a couple of times on the forum. John reckons it's the 2005 Kawasaki EL250V, but I can't find any reference to it on the Kawasaki websites.

If this is a 250, this is one awesome cruiser! Does anyone have any more details about it? Is it a new release or what?

It sure as hell don't look like any other Kawasaki 250 Eliminator I've ever seen!

Well, I think the reason that the EL250V isnt around much (only a few in japan even) Is because there is simply no demand for it, they are an incredibly hard bike to grey import - I have seen a few in australia (grey imports) and seen a couple on the japan suppliers sites.

There is a review on the 125 elminator here http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/roadtests/peewees/
You can see the design links rather clearly, the reason I initially thought it was an 05 was due to the wheels, I think they were making the EL upto 2003, which all had spokes - then some sneaky googling bought up some pictures and auctions of said 2005 EL250v and the 2004 model with apparently a different motor. I cannot be sure of all details I havent seen hard copies - I think this bike is just like the ZXR250's bloody impossible to find out about.

You can normally find the odd one here:
    http://www2.ibike.com.hk/buysell/buysell.asp?bikeid=234

The thing is I cant be sure if its the 04 or 05 model that changed, but with 2005 125EL design update I drew that conclusion who knows.

    edit:
el = parallel twin (Ex250 engine)
    elv = vtwin

    Cheers for the info, John.

No demand for it? Jeez, if I was in the market for a 250 cruiser right now, I'd give my left testicle for one of those! It doesn't even look like a 250, more like a middleweight cruiser.

If you track one down in NZ, let me know!

Yeah, but don't tell Mrs VV, or I won't have any testicles to swap for the bike....

Lol hey mate just tell her it only makes sense for a father to want a daughter to ride her own bike. Otherwise she'll have to ride on the back with guys like John. Tell you the truth mate I don't trust that guy. lol

Oh and guess what this is. Not a V-twin but fairly nice.

Yeah, cheers for that. It would be interesting to get a comparitive price against the Virago 250 ($7K new).

$7K for a 250? Damn mine must have heaps of depretiation (sp) cause it's worth about that much...

Anyway I found heaps on Ebay. Can give you the links to them. Not all are 250s though there are a few 125 and even a 1000.

No worries John, just drooling at this stage!

In addition to Virago, we have 3 cars and a trailer. Trying to keep up with all the Wof's and Reg's and insurance is a bit of a nightmare already.

Mrs VV says definately no more at this stage, but I'll keep working on her..... .

I'd like to get her off the pillion and on to her own bike, and the oldest daughter is really keen to ride.

I've been eying up the Virago 250, but that Kwaka V-twin looks simply stunning.

In the meantime, it would be nice to find out pricing, and if any turn up in the South Island, I might have to check it out in the flesh.

At that stage I start begging, and after 21 years of marriage, I know how to beg...........
