Cool stuff. I'm not much for customs of the sports variety given what I do for work and in my workshop, but it's cool when someone puts a bag full of custom work on a sports bike.

Indeed it is, except I used the cylon front for the back mirrors and clocks will be removed in favor of an lcd screen, and a bixenon projector headlight is on the way. It's the next major mod, but need to get a bit creative to figure out an awesome plan first.

Way more time than money, and connections to places with the right equipment helps immensely. The whole tail section including the subframe cost well under a grand, but probably around 100 hours labor.

Always happy to pass on what I've learnt if you get an urge to try something yourself.

Got a few small pics here, for higher res see my photobucket album

mod list now includes; cowl, tail light, removable (but tricky) tail tidy, tuned jetting, shorai battery (thanks edbear), tyre hugger, and some tidying up of the loom.
My pleasure mate! Anyone building a custom, and wanting a small, lightweight battery, I have a KB price of $15.00 off my TradeMe price.

The bike looks good and it's great to see the good old Kiwi DIY attitude still reigns supreme!

Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!

As long as you learn from it, it can't be too bad a fuck up. Just make sure all the parts you do are bolt on and don't require modding any original bits!

Yeh we could swap some parts off it for honda ones if a suitable donor is found, that way it'll get more reliable too. Reckon we start with the engine, frame, wheels, suspension and fairing, then go from there

Yeh thankfully it isn't to everyones tastes, designed it to keep the stock lines, and one of them modern pointy bastards would look shit on such a classy bike.

Not by themselves, but have a tail tidy that includes the stock indicators and an e-marked brake light. Though I am assuming having extra lights doesn't make it illegal...

Also I'm not sure whether i should ride with the LEDs cylon scrolling, I think it may induce target fixation or make it appear moving when not?
