Thread: Stonechucker in major accident.

  1. #401
Andre called last night - He and Sheila are sounding soooo much better, in fact we laughed and spoke about the positives and the road forward for Dave. he used an old favourite saying of mine " The world is our oyster". It was good to hear them up beat and positive about their sons recovery.

    One day at a time.

    Up, up and away.....

    Cool

Has anyone heard yet if Stonechucker is now out of ICU and back in a ward?
And if so what ward and room number?

All updates on SC are really appreciated.

Yes, Dave was moved back to the orthopedics ward yesterday.

Bloody hell, ignore the boards for a bit and look what happens.

Never met you Dave, but you always seemed a great chap on the boards. Hope you recover quickly, my thoughts are with you and yours.

    Dude

I've barely been on the board since I've joined, but to pop on to find someone has come a cropper on "that" bridge is not a nice feeling (have had a few scary moments myself there).

Hope you get better soon, and are on a bike (be it any bike) asap.

Right, There is to be no more fighting on this thread.

and now back to how Stonechucker is doing....

This is about Stonechucker.... and him getting better and getting back on a bike again after he is fully recovered.

If anyone in Wellington has been in to see him, can you all let us know how he is getting on, for all of us who live so far away.
    Thanks.

    Please

Can people please try to be a bit more thoughtful before they hit the "submit" button.

Dave is currently recuperating after an horrific accident. Some of the postings on this and other threads, while well intentioned, don't contribute much to the greater scheme of things. Some items are a bit patronising and others seek to present views and values that may not be shared by others -- including Dave. This has pissed some people off, and I can understand why they are pissed off.

In these threads in particular, let's be mindful of the needs and wishes of Dave and his parents and being supportive of them. They have got a lot in front of them.

And let's be a bit more caring about others here as well. Not everybody is thick-skinned and may not take kindly to being ambushed with truckloads of angry PMs and negative rep points, particularly when they may have done nothing other than express a view that differs from that held by the "herd".

This is our gargre. Let's show a bit more respect for each other.

Went in and saw Dave tonight. Vtwin was there and so was another friend of Dave's.

    He's on level E room 4.

He was pretty tired but doing ok, he was talkling about Harley's again

He can sit up but not enough to be able to watch telly or anything yet and he can't really read either, the neck brace is really annoying him (poor thing!) he said he basically sleeps between visits.

    So glad he's gettin' there.

    Ditto to what Celtic_Sea_Lily posted.

He is looking so much better that last week. No oxygen mask this time.
He's alot more alert and chatty but as Celtic said he is tired and needs lots of sleep so the body can repair itself.

He told me they are going to try to get him on his feet this week, if not at least sitting up in a chair.

V Rod is what he's talking about getting now....."if I get one I won't be going fast, just cruising from now on."

    Good on you Dave.

I hope to have the time to scoot down on tuesday and see him, I will probably have to take the tribe too but only Greg will come in with me actually see Dave. The girls will drive him mad asking dumb little girl type questions !!
