No stay here!...the TDM is a much underated bike and ideal for NZ roads as long as its not too serious off road stuff your doing.....as soon as my blackbird goes I ll be getting one of them....

Rather depends on how you intend to ride it. Taking unsuitable bikes to inappropriate places rather defines adventure bike class.

Lots of adventure bikes fit within this category - especially those with 19" or smaller wheels, such as Vee Stroms, later Transalps, Tigers, Vaderos, Super Teneres, most of the bigger BMW GSs, motards etc. Its not the size, its how you use it.
IT'S JUST BETTER WHEN THERE'S TWINS INVOLVED..

It was a sad day when my ZRX left home and I was almost tempted to hang onto the DR but money talks and I really wanted a TDM.

I agree, any ride can be an adventure and I have been doing inappropriate things in inappropriate ways (in new speak) since Adam was a lad.

Will get some practice and look to join in at some stage.

Ride it wherever you want too. I do with mine...

Limited choice of front tire's & the doonpips being underslung limit confidence but otherwise they are great for gravel roads & sedate tracks, twisty tarmac, touring, commuting, hooning, two up, riding to a mates house to watch them work on their bike etc

    Welcome to the individual side.

Loads of info on the TDM forum should you need it or have any niggles. ( Crap lights, jerky throttle around town, want to make it sound better, cake recipes etc)

Looks like I better not sell my mud boots then.

Got a couple of almost brand new dirt road helmets. May have to rethink the sell plan.

Rode the bike a bit today. Luvlie.

    Cheers

    Mmmm... TDM...

Fast and capable on dirt roads, dunno about anything off-road.
    Cheers,

Too be honest, I think dirt roads would be about my limit in the "rough road" riding. The DR nearly killed me a few times in the dunes. Not riding........pushing

We sold my wife's DR200 as well as she wasn't that keen on the rough stuff...... out of the house anyway

She can handle her Cagiva Raptor on the grubby roads and there are plenty of those where we want to go.

There is a nice TDM900 in Nelson on the T....me.

Seems a good guy with a genuine reason to sell. Well priced now as well. Couple of overpriced jobbies there as well but they'll sit until the seller gets the message.
