If you can get someone WHO KNOW what they are doing to get rid of the catalytic converter and tune your bike so it gets the correct fuel/air mix afterwards, then I say go for it.
I don't think there is any point in a power commander/juice box, or whatever if you do not also do work on the exhaust.
If you have a lot of money, some tuning, a full exhaust + carbon fibre wheels will turn a 600cc bike into a dragon slayer.
