CBF or VTR

Hey, im looking at the late model CBF and VTR bikes, please let me know your thoughts? I am i beginner but want to do some long rides and also want to take a passenger once in a while. Which would you recommend for comfort, enjoyment and maintenance wise?

Any of the v-twins are much more entertaining to be on. They joost haft mere mmm!!

In the end, you should ride them both and choose, but yeah a vtwin with a loud pipe on is really nuts!

Are we talking CBF250 single or CB250F Hornet? Because a Hornet will roost the hell out of a VTR in every situation except slow speed wheelies.

I ALMOST got a CBF - thankfully I regained my mojo enough to realise I needed more in a bike...just in time to avoid buying it. Seriously two test rides on it and I was bored shitless. VTR for sure

But since you have not got your license yet get that first... and then go test ride them both as well look at a variety of other bikes...

Each bike, rider style and purpose for wanting a bike are different so test many bikes and find one that is comfortable to you, mets your needs for a bike... I will add the VTR is a brillient buike to learn on, it is very forgiving...

Having very recently test-ridden both a CB250 Hornet (1996) and a VTR250 (2005), they felt quite similar to me. The VTR has a slightly more sporty seat position that the CB, and the CB feels slightly heavier in its movements. However, I had fun on both of them, and both seemed quite nice little commuter/learners.

I was originally going to buy a VTR, as they are reputedly forgiving, fun, and (Honda) bombproof. However, I was sidetracked by a beautiful CBR which fit perfectly (and made me grin like no other), so +1 to Nighthawk's 'find a bike that is comfortable to you'.

As the CB250s are older bikes, they may be cheaper - an important consideration for those of us who are poor...

CBF250 is not the CB250 Hornet.

It's a shittier, uglier, slower and smaller version of the Hornet. In other words, it's absolutely nothing like the Hornet at all. If it WERE the Hornet then there's no contest, it would win.

However if you were buying new and the options are CBF250 and VTR250, then again it's no contest, the VTR wins hands down. It's retardedly light, nippy, stable and gives you confidence. The CBF250 is a piece of shit that makes you know you're riding a piece of shit.

With larger cc bikes, the inline fours get a wikid howl on, but the v-twins get a badass snarl to them, especially so with a loud exhaust.

Generally, you get people who either prefer inline howl or v-twin snap and snarl.

Ride 'em both and choose.
