    Ouch my Knee!!!

Go Out and Buy yourself a set of LEVI RED TAGS!

Was commuting to work in typical fashion wearing jeans and leather jacket... came into a right hand uphill offcamber corner and plodded the knee out 'sif i was on the track and let her down

God allmighty does it BURN! But im proud to say the Levi Red tags did stand up to the test and only got a black round mark on outta edge of knee, not one frayed thread!!! approx 30kmph corner and touched down fairly firmly for 1-2seconds.

Couldnt believe it as i hate my old crossply metzlers, but they were not too bad but i got into a wobble/slip trying to bring the bike back up putting on power.  Main thing, no scratches on bike (apart from Real minor on hero blob) and i learnt the lesson of friction/heat   will post pic of jeans when i plug webcam back in.  untill then, Go the levi's!!

I went down the road once wearing a pair of green Levi cord flares....well,it was a 70s thing y'know I was sliding for so long I got burns from the rivets and my leather belt was totaled....the cords? not a mark on them.I had to wear the ugly things for a couple more years till they wore out!

I guess this would count as KK squidness.....getting the knee down on a public road without knee sliders

You only got your knee down on the track a few weeks ago, now you're trying to do it everywhere. Is this a pattern for anything new that you try? lol

funnily enough none of the times my knee has gone down have I been wearing knee sliders. In fact my knee sliders never went down before bing sold.

Have however fucked a set of leathers (accdental knee down ended up involving two knees down).

Have also accidentally downed then getting to carried away when I was to young to know better (back when I was a fast but bad rider, Now I'm slow but getting better!). runied several pairs of levis but never on the first go.

gosh round abouts can be fun if well designed.

My last knee down was in my workpants and i almost filled them when I suddenly felt the roundabout pushing back!

One of the racers in the US was telling me about a money spiner where the racers sell partially used knee sliders to squids so the squids can make it look as if they got their knee down. The call them "Squid Skids". Apparently in the prod classes they also sell tyres to people (no chicken stripes).

Cause its so much fun!! AND somehow I have a feeling that I can go faster with the knee down for various reasons. Not sure if i'd try it with jeans on thoe, no matter what type.

    OK... Fine the US side...

The puck swap... Na, no one here (east coast) is that creative; they just get take em off and scrap em across the ground by hand then put em back on.

And as for the tires... The 'race' take offs are legit, especially for those who do a number of track days. Some of the racers will use a set for one session (practice, not race) and sell them off. They maybe no good to the original rider but someone else maybe able to get a few more good track days out of them and for a fraction of the cost.

Even better get yourself on a kiddies rounbabout and drag your knee (remember to rotate the roundabout both ways) to get a real authentic knee slider scrape.

I burnt a hole through my synt. trou when I went over the 'Taka's and forgot I wasn't in leathers.  Jeans are good tho - get some friction - but usually don't tear through.

Riding in shorts is just plain fucken stupid

Ever smacked a cats eye with your knee down - well fuck me if that doesn't bring tears to your eyes, by god it hurts and you end up with one hell wicked bruise.  You would think I would of learnt but I hit the same cats eye on the Rimutakas three times......was tempted to go and remove it.  But then I decided to try and scrap it off with the engine cover of my bike and my head!

Shorts are stupid? Well I ambled home behind a rider with Jacket, shorts and leather sandals riding in a rather foot first sort of way. I don't think there was any chance of a knee down from him.
