What's with those dicks on Youtube?

that have 10min clips on how to change a tyre - i had the same tools as they did and tried to do exactly what they did, and two hours later i finally had changed my first tyre. bloody hell!

on another note, it was a $40 innova tyre from torpedo7, will be interesting to see if it lasts, i really just bought it as a laugh so anything more than 2 rides is a bonus

I had a hell of a time getting the 110/100/18 Innova rear on the TT.
    Twin rimlocks and UHD tube.
Does your tyre have the little word "Tubeless" on it anywhere?

    Mine does.

Seems like every time I do a tyre, it's like the first time and I've forgotten everything...

Wise man once said if your struggling to change a tyre your doing it wrong

I use lux flakes with water to make greasy lube works wanders
Even on the old ones if you dont race serious and you wanna just go do the odd club day and smoke everyone on a big old 5hundy it great and if you get beaten you have a handful of excuses

Can anyone recomend some levers? I bought these ones:
    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-365245704.htm
Which seem to be good for getting the tire back on with the lip & rounded bit, but were a total bastard to get the old tyre off with.
Need 3 anyway so if I get a couple of spoon shaped ones hopefully I can get the hang of it

at Tussock Buster I watched 2 guys do a tyre in about 5 mins. They used Terry Cable Mighty tyre irons to get the old one off and DRC's (I think) to get the new one on. They had their rig on the trailer and were standing over it which I think is key, all the levers have spoon ends and the TCM ones are about 17 inches long so heaps of leverage.

Once I get another bike or 2, currently still in stand down period with insurance payout, I will definitely invest in some levers like what they had.
Smoke 'em if you have 'em

You run what you brung, and pray you brought enough

I use a pair of Buzzetti ones the same as those and a DRC spoon and little straight one.
The spoon and straight one are in the on-bike tool kit and the Buzzetti's are in the shed.

Usually end up using the big ones and small straight one.

used it for the first time today. it's awesome for the price, Good pattern (all they have to do is copy someone who's done all the R&D) I rode it in karapoti today which is rock and clay and very hard on tyres. not a single knob with any cracks in it or anything so i'm stoked with it and will use them again. I however wouldn't use their rears as the pattern looked rubbish for the type of riding i do. had a brand new S12 XC (140 wide) on the back. It's not so brand new now but awesome grip, unbelievable compared to the rooted MC5 I took off and it beaded properly when i put it on the rim
