it goes through where the lever pivots and threads into the frame. it must be a funny shape as its only about an 8 - 10mm diameter thread but there is a 13 - 15mm hole in the lever for it go go into. - i'll see if i can find a pic

being loose is the leading cause of bolts falling out in my experience

does anyone have any idea where i might get one of these bolts from? i finally rang honda to see if they had one in stock, they have none in the country and want $35 + 2 - 3 weks to get it from japan. not very impressed really, it would be nice if they supported their bikes

milson metals are who I use for bolts, not sure what their range of shoulder bolts are like though, If you got the size/specs just ring and ask, if not, I can measure what's on my 98 for ya.

here's one example of one. will cost you about the same, but comes with a free brake pedal, and should only take 4-5 days to get here

Booom has a good point cause fate will have it you'll buy or find a bolt put it on thinking don't need a spare pedal and you'll bend it for that $$ id get it nothing wrong with having spare's given the cost of new. I had a look through my parts bins nothing there that ill suit your bike sorry.
