Sounds like the punishment hit the spot effectively. Anytime I exceed 140, I know the consequences, I'll never moan to anyone if I loose my licence as a result of exceeding 140, because it's solely my decision and the law is clearly stated. Learn to Man up! and take a closer look at those cars sitting behind you the next time you decide to break licence losing speeds. Awareness is an asset.

Been done the death these types of thread.
I have my moments where i tend to push along. Quite happy to take the ticket if it happens.
Mind you...i have been doing this for some 30 years and i have only had 2 speeding tickets.
Think the trick is to be smart about where you do it.
Coming on here and bleating aint gonna change anything though.
    Trumpydom!

I have a bike parked in the garage looking straight at me. It's a nice day off, and I'm sitting here reading this drivel.

What was the point of this thread?

That's right...... you got caught being naughty

Punishment fit the crime? Lets face it you didn't plow into a group of cyclists or kill any of them so yeah a bit steep that you got 6 months disqualification

I remember a cop mate of mine telling me about a car crash he had to attend as a young cop. A car had gone off the road killing two adults. Their six year old daughter had been thrown from the wreckage into a field, losing her arm at the shoulder in the process. Arriving at the scene he found her sitting there in deep shock, and he picked her up and held her until she bled out all over his nice blue shirt and died in his arms.

I don't expect Police or lawmakers to ever really develop a sense of humour about speed related accidents, and likewise I don't ever expect them to take what you might consider a more progressive approach to penalizing speeders.

I would say walking 200m instead of driving drunk is a lot easier than keeping to the speed limit.....that guy n Hobsonville died about 200m from his partners house didn't he?

I agree in part, however, how does 6 months fit the crime when you get 6 months for DIC...

Unless we can all say we don't speed then we are all naughty but nice

I agree - lets increase the penalty for DIC.

...I still don't get it. Why do you get to decide that your choice of law breaking is any more or less dangerous than someone elses. Presuming appropriate time and place of course.

I often find myself indignant at the people who still choose to talk on a mobile while driving on my commute. I have to remind myself that I break at least a handful of laws each time ride.

It's not about road safety, or even about you, and even less about what you do that is right and honest. It's about the fact that the state can rule you like the weak bitch that you are, and that they can take money out of your pocket and put it in theirs without even a tiny squeak from you.

You know, when people start to feel really angry about being treated like vermin by the fucking govt, they might stand up for themselves and tell said govt to roll their fucking rules up and smoke them, but not until.
