My view of sportsbikes is probably different to others - and it is a view of sportsbikes, not cruisers or classics etc.

The first decent (i.e new) bike I owned was a Honda and after riding it all day every day for my job often to an inch of, and sometimes accidentely beyond its capabilities I got very used to the way it handled and the way the chasis and tires gave nice feedback (it had a suitable amount of flex).

Since then i've riden many machines and have noticed that suzuki's always give top performance in straight line speed, but i've never liked they way they deliver their feedback (not enough flex) which makes that neutrality in cornering rather difficult.

Kawasaki are the opposite, the seem to be too plush, being more like a mobile armchair than anything else, I'm also not keen on heavy bikes prefering small and light machinary.

I find it very difficult to change from machine to machine (I can, but it takes me a while), because I notice the subtle little differences which detract from my riding - heck, even changing tires drives me nuts.

I dont really have that much of an interest in sports bikes other than the technology, they all look pretty much the same to me and i'm too lazy to go fast - it bores me silly now.

I couldnt really give a monkies what the bikes look like, if I want them different, i'll bolt on other stuff or mod it. Bugger leaving it standard - that goes for any bike.

I always pre-ride inspect my bikes, even if i'm going round the block - its just habbit and something I do while i'm putting my kit on and waiting for it to warm up - even if its just a check of the chain, tires and levers.

Also, I make sure they are always serviced and in good condition, if somethings worn, it gets replaced - i'm not one to leave things to fail a warrent or blow up on me. Prefer to keep the machine in good order.

However, if it does blow up, I never have any sentimentality about them. To me they are just lumps of alloy that I have an interest in. If the bike goes bang, I either fix it, or save up and buy another. Cant see the point in all this preening and polishing and the like. I can never understand why people have so much invested value in a lump of metal that they are frightened to ride the things.

But having said that, each person has their own passion and I know some folks just buy bikes so they can look at em. What floats their boat is up to them I guess.
The contents of this post are my opinion and may not be subjected to any form of reality
It means I'm not an authority or a teacher, and may not have any experience so take things with a pinch of salt (a.k.a bullshit) rather than fact

I know people that love their bike and love riding but they are office workers and havent a clue what to do when it comes to mainance.... you say they shouldent be on a m/c???

No point in telling anyone about the loose items..... Suzuki through cheapish parts and dont locktight every thing..... well thats how I see it and that is what this thread is about..... cheap paint and a lack of tighting shit
My last eight bikes have been bought brand new. Seven of them Suzukis. I was given a tip by a mate to take a new bike home and go over the nuts and bolts. Can't say I've had any problems but it was good advice. Doesn't take long but worth it in the long run.

Suzuki makes great bikes, often leading the way in performance and definitely (usually?) on price. But it seems to go all wrong when they apply the finishing touches -bodywork and the paint brush.

Well all I have to say is the Paint on my Silver K3 is Mint!! Everyone that looks at it & says fuck thats excellent . As far as bolts coming lose etc , I haven't had a bike in 53 bikes that something has not come lose or fallen off . My K3 had a Bar end fall off & a seat bolt drop out . Check bike every 2nd ride & each time I clean her I put the allen key over all bolts . A good point was made about looks of a bike don't always make it go any faster . Which is why I brought my K3 . What happens when you run out of ideas for your bike shape ? I think the R1 is getting close to this . Any ways GSXR's ROCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to concur, GSXR's do indeed ROCK. No arguement, from '85 though to '05 (ok, maybe not the '88-'95 model 750's, too fat.) they all rock. Everyone knows it, you can't deny it. Final. That's all. Zip it.

    That is unbelievably bad.

Suzukis have always been great for performance and value for money but when you see something like that it makes you think about buying American.

I always hated the fake carbon fibre on the TLS, very tacky.

This is the third time I have read about the frame on these bikes. This is by far the worst. Fecken scary. I love zuki but time they came out and fixed this coz dead riders don't buy bikes. Front up Zuki.
