Have a large container and a cancellation. Shipping to Los Angeles then picking up our bikes in July. Tag along with us or choose your own route. Pack up bikes end of August in Los Angeles. I can give you guidence re great rides, insurances, accomadation ect.
Miss the cold southerlies and other shitty weather for 6 weeks and email your mates complaining about the heat. They will love you for it.

This is an absolute stunner of a trip. We rode with Ratast in 2008 and loved every second of it. Nothing can describe riding North American highways on your own bike. Grand Canyon, Route 66, Golden Gate Bridge, the prairies and the Badlands. It's just brilliant. And you don't need a Harley.

You can ride your bike in the USA & Canada for 90 days without having to reregister it. NZ plates are a real conversation starter: "Where y'all from?"

Ratast can give you contacts for insurances.

Rough idea of itinerary? Budget? Would be first o/s trip with bike, so would play it safe and tag along with the experienced ones... aka... you

Rather tempted actually, but wondering how far I would need to twist my boss' arm for 6 weeks...

Hi Gremlin, We have 2 guys picking up bikes at Sturgis and riding back through some of the most scenic roads in the world to Los Angeles via Grand Canyon, Route 66 and las Vegas. One is hiring and one shipping.
Your boss might be a real good guy and give you 22 days off.
Sorry, cannot give an indication for next couple years. Next year we going into Alaska and year after is still open.

Hi Shafty, we are riding Route 66 and nearby on 16th - 24th August. If dates suit you can organise a great place to stay in Vegas for 3 nights for you.
    Cheers Ratast

I'm pm'ing my email addy to you... I'm in the process of twisting my boss' arm. He's making some gargling noises and looks a little white, but I should be good to go.

Can't pass up a once off trip like this, and learning from those that have done it before.

He said they had a container, not the whole boat. You'll never fit the beemer in there.

Ah, you must be correct, because they never travel the world?
