More going down hill
Home safe. Awesome (challenging) weekend.
I found it fitting that we started on 'Somme Parade' Wanganui. Apparently there was a bit of mud at the Somme about 95 years ago.
Thanks for organising that downpour just as we were leaving the farm also. That was just what we needed to wash the mud off.
Heaps of photos to sort through.![]()
The last steep bit before the bottom. This was " Papa " Clay but wasnt any slipperier than the rest of it. Just hug the bank an slide down
More in the same spot
1 The bottom of the hill !!! Finally.
2 Mark coming down
3 Al in search of food, Bear Grylls style
4 Bonnet emblem
5 & 6 Brent coming down
Made it home safe.
Thanks to the Bastard and Phil for organising this ride, weather and slop.four of us retraced our ride yesterday that the heavyweights did, that DR of Barts is bloody wide when you are trying to pass him and his rear tyre spitts rock like a machine gun,how ever we managed to disperse a fair amount of gravel.
When I figure out how to extract the video I will post it.
Thanks to everyone.
Life shouldnt end at the grave well presented but rather, slide in sideways totally worn out yelling "shit that was a great ride!"
Rang me Mumto wish her happy mothers day and she assures me her and Dad were married

Yeah right.
I remember someone saying at the bottom of that big hill "well it's always the challenging rides you remember most" However their comment was a bit premature as we hadn't yet reached the uphill sections
Anything thanks for a great ride chaps & gals.
And the 250's rocked in the Naki mud![]()
Thanks Colin and Phil for organising the weekends riding.
I had a great time - thanks guys and girls for your good company
I'll tackle that tricky stuff next time(if it's dry!
)
This kinda sums up the weekend.

Phil, Col, Dawn and others who helped make this a great weekend - an awesome time of with the usual suspects and some new ones as well - a great time of ADV riding fraternity.
Thanks for organising another great 'naki ride. As always great catching up with other KB ADV riders.
Thanks to all who helped me pick up my DR several times - this old bod is tired and bruised tonight by hugely contented after a great weekend.
Special thanks to K Slider aka Pete trusting me with his 1200GS from Kiaiwi up to the summit enroute to Wanganui via the river road this afternoon. What a great machine - I want one - lust for a Katoom over (for now)
Cheers All - Aslan
those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind..

Thanks to Colin and Phil for a rather challenging, (read as arse puckering)ride.

Whats Next ?![]()
A cup of tea and a wee lie down
We got home safe and well, if a little tired.
It was an educational weekendI learnt that half-worn T63's are not the tool for the job
and that I can only pick my bike up by myself about 7 times in one 48 hour period
But, for the first time in my life, I saw the whole of Mt Taranaki yesterday morning![]()
The road to hell is paved...
