    Question Can I govern the engine on my YZF 426?

    hi just wondering if i can govern the yzf 426 as went for a ride on my bike after being of for 12mths and forgot how beasty it is or is my other option better and to get a 200/250 ?

    you can make up a restrictor washer for the header pipe.
    adjust the throttle cable so that it has lots of slack.
    fit an AG100 motor.
    Retired- just some guy with a few bikes......

    You can just not open the throttle too far too quickly.....

    Too much cable slack runs the risk of it disconnecting from the carb throttle partially, or snagging.
    Just saying.

    Restrictor washers in exhausts/manifolds etc are quite common factory mods to pass various market requirements. Probably the best method. MHO

    Mine was an absolute wilderbeast. I put in a YZF450 auto decompressor exhaust cam & now have a bike i can kick start with ease & ride all day without that ball tearing torque that exhausts you. It also seems to rev harder & is just generally more pleasant to use.

    well i will try not to but it been a while since my last major wipe out so will start with the washer idea lol and go from there

    I would'nt have put a yzf426 anywhere near the top 10 in terms of 'beastyness' ...don't the NZ Post guys run them now ?

    they're pretty hard work... My number one would have to be the new (reverse motor, fuel injected) YZF450's... they're freakin' mental
